The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. today, March 4, at Major Family Funeral Home in Springfield for John W. Fortenberry of Eugene, who died Feb. 27 of age-related causes. He was 93. Visitation was held March 3.
He was born Dec. 27, 1916, in Tahoka, Texas, to Wylie and Alicia McIntyre Fortenberry.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and worked as a used car salesman.
Survivors include a daughter, Sally Hines of Beaverton; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; His wife, Renee Lambert Fortenberry, and a son, Dennis Fortenberry, died previously.
