Life Legacy
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 19, at Major Family Funeral Home in Springfield for John Arthur Wood of Denver, formerly of Lane County, who died March 10 of sepsis. He was 72. Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
He was born July 26, 1937, in Phoenix, Ariz., to John and Mary Webster Wood. He married Marilyn Rhoades on March 2, 1967, in Las Vegas. She died Oct. 12, 1992.
Wood served in the Marines. He was the owner and operator of Woody’s Floor Covering Services.
Survivors include two sons, John of Denver and Roy of Condon; two daughters, Barbara Wilkie of Hollywood, Fla., and Lavelle Larson of Eugene; 13 brothers and sisters; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Burial will be at Springfield Memorial Gardens. Remembrances to Boy Scouts of America.
